DR. BRIAN BERLINER

Long Island Optometrist - Dr. BerlinerDr. Berliner operates two Optometric practices on Long Island and has been practicing as an optometrist for over 25 years. Both practices are located inside the Lenscrafters stores in Huntington Station and Lake Grove. Dr. Brian Berliner provides comprehensive eye exams for patients of all ages. He is board certified to treat and manage eye disease and vision disorders for patients ranging in age from infancy all the through to geriatrics.

Dr. Berliner received his B.S. from City College of N.Y. in 1978 and his Doctor of Optometry degree from the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 1983.

He subsequently completed a post-Doctoral Residency affiliated with the SUNY College of Optometry and the Northport V.A. Medical Center on Long Island.  During his residency he gained extensive experience and expertise in primary eyecare, vision therapy, and low vision rehabilitation.

Dr. Berliner’s special interests are in the evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases including strabismus (misaligned or crossed eyes), amblyopia (lazy eye), acquired brain injury (TBI), low vision, vision therapy, accommodative and convergence dysfunctions and visually related learning/ perceptual disabilities.

Dr. Berliner is uniquely trained as an eye doctor.  He is certified to provide eye exams for low vision patients and is classified as a specialist through the NYS Commission for the Blind.  He additionally has certifications in corneal refractive therapy and has  earned the American Optometric Recognition Award for Continued Education.

Dr. Berliner’s professional affiliations include being a long standing member of the American Optometric Association, NYS Optometric Association, The American Academy of Orthokeratology,  and the College of Optometrists in Visual Development.

 

DR. MARK SCHNUR

Long Island Eye Doctor - Mark SchnurDr. Mark Schnur graduated from New England College of Optometry in 1987 with high honors as an eye doctor. He graduated from Binghamton University in 1983.

Dr. Schnur is certified in the examination, treatment and management of ocular disease. He is also certified as a orthokeratology practitioner. Dr. Schnur has been practicing as an eye doctor on Long Island for over 20 years.

He is an expert in fitting contact lenses for over 20 years and specializes in fitting multifocal and astigmatic contact lenses.

Dr. Schnur has extensive eye examination experience in co-managing LASIK and PRK patients. Dr. Mark Schnur serves in our Huntington Station and Lake Grove eye care clinics.

 

DR. ROBERT GRZESIAK

Dr. Robert Grzesiak - Optometrist in Long IslandDr Robert Grzesiak (aka  Dr. G.) has been practicing Optometry in his hometown on Long Island for almost 13 years.  He received his Doctor of Optometry degree from The Pennsylvania College of Optometry in 1998 with clinical honors as an eye doctor.  Prior to optometry school Dr. G earned his bachelors degree from Siena College in upstate New York.

During his clinical eye exam training he was fortunate to extern at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute which has been rated the #1 eye hospital in the country as published in U.S. News & World Reports.

Dr. G volunteered on a humanitarian mission to Peten Region of Guatamala working as an eye doctor, performing eye examinations and serving the visual needs of  thousands of underprivileged.  You can see him at both our Huntington Station and Lake Grove eye care clinics.

 

DR. GINA HOROWITZ

Dr. Gina Horowitz - OptometristDoctor Gina Horowitz has been a practicing optometrist on Long Island for over sixteen years.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biology from Binghamton University in 1990, and her Doctor of Optometry degree from the State University of New York College of Optometry in 1994. She works out both our Huntington Station and Lake Grove eye care offices.

Dr Horowitz is the recipient of the Class of 1991 Pacesetter Award for Excellence in Primary Care Eye Examinations.  This is the highest award one can receive as a clinician at the State University of New York College of Optometry.  During her clinical training as an eye doctor, she was a member of S.V.O.S.H.(Student  Volunteers for Optometric  Services for Humanity) and has volunteered in homeless shelters in New York City.

She also provides eye exams through the OneSight program which offers comprehensive eye examinations to patients at no charge who are uninsured and demonstrate financial need.
Dr Horowitz completed an internship at the Rusk Institute of Rehabilitative Medicine at New York University. She also completed an internship at the Northport V.A. Center in Rehabilitative Optometry.

Doctor Horowitz is certified in corneal refractive therapy, and the diagnosis and treatment of eye diseases.  She is a contact lens fitting specialist.

Doctor Horowitz is a post-operative LASIK patient herself and has co-managed numerous patients that have undergone this procedure.

As a marathon runner, skier, boater, and sports enthusiast, Doctor Horowitz has treated many athletes for their unique vision care needs.

Doctor Horowitz happily lives with her husband, daughter and son.  She strives to treat each patient as if they were her own family member. She provides professional eyecare for those who seek her services with concern and compassion.

 

DR. MARLEEN MARINO

eye doctor Marleen MarinoDr. Marleen Marino has been an eye doctor on Long Island for over 16 years.  She received her Bachelor of Science degree from St Johns University in 1990 and her Doctor of Optometry degree from SUNY College of Optometry in 1994. During her clinical training she did an internship at Northport VA hospital in Vision Therapy/Rehabilitative Optometry as well as an internship in vision therapy at SUNY Optometry. She became interested in optometry in her late teens, having a stepfather who is visually impaired due to end stage glaucoma and optic neuritis.

Dr. Marino is certified as an eye doctor in the treatment and management of eye disease as well as the treatment of glaucoma. She also provides eye examinations for contact lenses, and is a  specialist in the  handling of many challenging cases such as those with dry eye or bifocal wearers. She is an affiliate eye doctor associated with The Laser Center in Garden City with experience co managing LASIK and PRK.

A native of Queens, she has been residing on Long Island with her husband and two children for the past twelve years. She works at our eye clinic in Lake Grove.
